Empire look to keep three-game win streak going against Valor

LAS VEGAS – After getting their 20-game home winning streak snapped, the Philadelphia Soul (3-2) travel to take on the first-place Baltimore Brigade (3-1) on Friday, May 25 at 7 p.m. ET at Royal Farms Arena on AFL Now and AFL Facebook Watch Page. This will be the third meeting between the two teams this season. The Soul beat the Brigade 54-49 in Week 1, with the Brigade taking the second game 31-21 back in Week 4.

Currently riding a three-game win streak, the Albany Empire (3-2) host the Washington Valor (0-5) on Saturday, May 26 at 6 p.m. ET at Times Union Center on CBS Sports Network. For the third time in four weeks, the two teams will face off. The Empire have won both games in the series so far this season.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR: SOUL: QB Dan Raudabaugh was placed on injured reserve…The Soul have been assigned QB Danny Southwick and have QB Greg McGhee already on the roster…McGhee went 6-of-9 for 48 yards and two TDs last week….Southwick last appeared in one drive last season, where he went 1-of-1 for four yards…The Soul have a trio of receivers to target…WR Darius Reynolds hauled in 15 receptions for 202 yards and four TDs against the Brigade this season…WR Darius Prince has added 12 receptions for 147 yards and two TDs…Not to be left out, WR Shaun Kauleinamoku has 14 catches for 146 yards and one TD against Baltimore…DB Dwayne Hollis leads the defense against the Brigade this season…Hollis has tallied 14.5 total tackles and one pass break up…The Soul defense puts pressure on the opposing quarterbacks and has sacked Brigade QB Randy Hippeard five times in two games… BRIGADE: QB Randy Hippeard has gone 44-of-69 passes for 485 yards and nine TDs against the Soul this season…WR Brandon Collins, WR Milton Williams, and WR Quentin Sims were Hippeard’s go-to receivers against the Soul…Collins brought in nine receptions for 127 yards and three TDs…Williams caught 10 receptions for 94 yards and two TDs…While, Sims has hauled in two catches for 57 yards and two TDs…DB Virgil Gray leads the Valor defense…Gray has tallied 17.5 total tackles, one pass break up and one INT in two games versus the Soul

WHAT TO LOOK FOR: VALOR: QB Shane Austin got his first start as a member of the Valor…Austin went 20-of-34 for 228 yards and four TDs while adding 28 rushing yards and two TDs…WRs Rod Windsor and Reggie Gray have proven to be the Valor’s top receivers in 2018…The duo combined for 24 receptions for 241 yards and four TDs against the Empire this season…Gray earned the Week 5 Offensive Player of the Week for his 12 catches for 171 yards and four TDs performance…LB Alvin Ray Jackson lead the defense in his Valor debut last week…The Defensive Player of the Week for Week 5 tallied 8.5 total tackles, one tackle for-a-loss, one pass break up, and one forced fumble…The Valor defense picked off Brigade QB Randy Hippeard twice last week, for his first INTs of the season…EMPIRE: The Empire are on a three-game winning streak that began with a win over the Valor in Week 4…QB Tommy Grady has gone 36-of-53 passes for 478 yards and 12 TDs against the Valor…Grady has a dynamic duo of receivers…In his first two games against Washington, WR Joe Hills hauled in 14 receptions for 197 yards and five TDs…Rookie WR Malachi Jones is a threat both in the air and on the ground…Jones recorded five rushing yards for two TDs along with 13 catches for 182 yards and four TDs versus the Valor…DB Marrio Norman combined for 16.5 total tackles, one pass break up and two INTs against in the first two games facing the Washington offense…The Empire defense recorded five sacks this season against the Valor, with DB Joe Sykes getting four of the sacks
