Soul look to avenge Week 9 loss to Valor

LAS VEGAS – The Washington Valor (1-8) hosts the Philadelphia Soul (5-4) on Friday, June 22 at 7 p.m. ET at Capital One Arena on AFL Now and AFL Facebook Watch Page. Washington will be the 4 seed in postseason play.

The Albany Empire (5-4) travel to take on the first-place Baltimore Brigade (7-2) on Saturday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Royal Farms Arena on CBS Sports Network. The Brigade can clinch the 1 seed this weekend with a win over Albany and a Philadelphia loss.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR:  SOUL: In his second start under center for the Soul, Austin went for 26-of-40 passes for 337 yards and 10 TDs…Austin has completed 44-of-73 throws for 639 yards, two INTs and 16 TDs in two games with the Soul…WR Aaron Wascha had a career-high game last week; the rookie hauled in 12 receptions for 208 yards and seven TDs…His performance earned him Offensive Player of the Week…WR Darius Prince continues to be the main target for Soul QBs…Prince caught 13 passes for 113 yards and three TDs in Week 10…In his previous three games against the Valor, Prince has 17 receptions for 277 yards and 8 TDs…FB Jeramie Richardson recorded 42 rushing yards and one TD in Week 10… DB Dwayne Hollis leads the Soul defense and has tallied 42.5 total tackles, seven pass breakups and seven passes defended this season…Against the Valor, the Soul defense has recorded 73.5 total tackles, five tackles for-a-loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles , two fumble recoveries, and three INTs…VALOR: QB Arvell Nelson completed 16-of-31 passes for 223 yards, two INT and four TDs, along with rushing for 13 yards and one TD last week…In his three games with Washington, Nelson has gone for 58-of-102 passes for 782 yards, five INTs and 15 TDs, along with 47 rushing yards and three TDs…WR Reggie Gray continues to be the Valor’s leading receiver…Last week against the Brigade, Gray hauled in six catches for 81 yards and two TDs…WR Josh Reese is another receiving target for Nelson…Reese caught six passes 96 yards and one TD in Week 10…The duo has combined for 32 receptions for 404 yards and nine TDs in their previous three meetings against the Soul…DB Michael Knights leads the defense with 27.5 total tackles, three pass breakups, four passes defended, one fumble recovery, and one INT…The Valor defense has recorded 62.5 total tackles, two fumble recoveries, and three INTs against the Soul

WHAT TO LOOK FOR: EMPIRE: QB Tommy Grady completed 18-of-29 passes for 335 yards and 10 TDs last week…Grady has gone 62-of-91 passes for 779 yards, two INTs, and 21 TDs against Baltimore this season…The former Ute leads the League in passing yards (2,266) and passing touchdowns (59)…Grady has two key receivers to target…WR Malachi Jones hauled in seven catches for 177 yards and five TDs, along with six rushing yards and one TD…The rookie ranks first in reception yards with 890…WR Joe Hills caught nine receptions for 143 yards and three TDs against the Soul in Week 10…The duo has combined for 50 receptions for 655 yards and 16 TDs in their previous three meetings against the Brigade…LB Terence Moore leads the Empire defense with 57.5 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for-a-loss, 0.5 sacks, eight pass breakups, 12 passes defended, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, and four INTs…In the previous three games against the Brigade, the Empire defense has tallied 104 total tackles, three sacks, six forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries,  and two INTs… BRIGADE: QB Randy Hippeard went 18-of-25 for 178 yards and five TDs last week…Against the Empire this season, Hippeard has completed 81-of-108 passes for 765 yards, two INTs, and 21 TDs…WR Quentin Sims and WR Milton Williams found the end zone two times each last week…Sims caught six passes for 38 yards and two scores…Williams hauled in three receptions for 38 yards and two TDs…The duo recorded 29 catches for 322 yards and 10 TDs against Albany this season…FB Rory Nixon rushed for four yards and three TDs in Week 10…Nixon leads the League in rushing TDs with seven… DB Joe Powell earned Defensive Player of the Week honors with his 4.5 total tackles and a 46-yard INT return for a TD…Against the Empire, the Brigade defense has tallied 78 total tackles, 15 pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, and two INTs
