ArenaBowl 32 Preview

The Philadelphia Soul will take on the Albany Empire at ArenaBowl 32. This will be the fourth time each team will face each other for the 2019 season. Albany leads the season series 2-1.  Philadelphia looks to win it’s third championship in four years while reaching their fifth ArenaBowl in franchise history. On the other hand, Albany looks to win their first championship since the original Albany Firebirds won the ArenaBowl back in 1999, ArenaBowl XII. 

The Soul came off of a playoff win in which the second game was much more closer (48-41 Soul winning) and exciting than the first game (69-33 Soul winning). But the total aggregate score ended up being 117- 74. Dan Raudabaugh led the Soul offense throwing for 424 yards and 11 touchdowns in the series. The defense also helped stop Arvell Nelson with having him throw 5 interceptions and getting sacked 7 times. 

The Empire are coming into this game winning both of their playoff games. The first one they won in Albany 61-26. The second game would be played in Baltimore with the Empire winning 62-21, making the total aggregate score 123-47, Empire winning the series. On the season against the Soul, Malachi Jone had 382 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns. 

ArenaBowl 32 will be played at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York on Sunday August 11th at 8pm ET. Albany was selected to host the game due to being the highest seed in the playoffs, they were the number one seed. The game will be broadcasted nationally on ESPN 2 and will be on the radio in the Philadelphia area on 97.5 The Fanatic.
