WASHINGTON, D.C. -The Washington Valor (1-5) host the Cleveland Gladiators (1-6) this Sat., June 3 at 7 p.m. at Verizon Center. It will be first meeting between the two teams in Washington D.C. this season. The Valor are looking to rebound from a 48-47 loss to the undefeated Philadelphia Soul while the Gladiators are coming off a 63-60 loss to the Baltimore Brigade.

VALOR PLAYER TO WATCH: WR GREG CARR – The fourth-year Florida State product registered a career-high 12 receptions last week against Philadelphia, amassing 131 yards and tying a career high with four touchdowns. In Washington’s only previous matchup with Cleveland this season, Carr caught nine passes for 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Sims is the only player in the league to average over 100 yards per game – and he averages almost 130. In his last outing, Sims registered 12 catches for 188 yards and five touchdowns, marking his fourth game this season with at least 10 catches, 100 yards and two touchdowns. However, during the teams’ first meeting this season, the Valor held Sims to season lows of four catches, 56 yards and one touchdown.

MATCHUP TO WATCH: GLADIATORS QB ARVELL NELSON vs. VALOR DEFENSE – Nelson, one of the league’s most dynamic playmakers, will be faced with a Valor defense that allows a league-low 46.2 points per game. Valor DB Tracy Belton leads the team in solo tackles (21), tackle assists (11) and interceptions (3). DL Brandon Sesay’s 3.5 sacks on the season lead a group of four Washington defenders that have at least two sacks this season (Sesay, Payne, Gordon and Wilson).
