Game Preview: Post Season – Brigade at Soul

PHILADELPHIA – The 2017 AFL Playoffs begin this weekend as the Philadelphia Soul host the Baltimore Brigade on Saturday, August 12 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. The game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network and 97.5 The Fanatic. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.

The Soul hold a 3-1 series record over the Brigade heading into the playoffs. The Soul look to continue their 16-game home game winning streak and advance to ArenaBowl XXX, while the Brigade look to overcome the odds and make the championship game in their first season of play.

The first match-up to watch out for is between Soul WR Darius Reynolds and Brigade DB Varmah Sonie. Currently this season, Reynolds leads the Soul receivers with 84 receptions for 1,272 yards and 35 touchdowns. So far, Sonie has collected 72.5 total tackles, three interceptions for nine yards, 19 pass break-ups and 22 passes defended.

DB James Romain and the Soul secondary must watch out for Brigade WR Reggie Gray this weekend. Romain leads the Soul defense with 78.0 total tackles, 23 pass break-ups, 28 passes defended and five interceptions for 58 yards. Gray leads the Brigade receivers with 69 receptions for 670 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Finally, QB Dan Raudabaugh will face off against Brigade QB Shane Boyd. So far this season, Raudabaugh has completed 243-of-365 passes for 3,175 yards and 82 touchdowns. Boyd has completed 31-of-53 passes for 353 and six touchdowns so far with the Brigade.

Should the Soul win on the 12th, the team will advance to host ArenaBowl XXX at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday, August 26 at 7 p.m.
